Congratulations to Simon Reffold (Royal Prince Alfred YC) and Peter Bellini (Avalon SC) who after two and a half gruelling hours afloat smashed out a impressive 6th and 13th overall respectively in their RS Aero 9s on corrected time from the large mixed fast fleet at the Peter Loft Marathon long distance race through the length of Pittwater, NSW.
After a Le Mans style start off the beach the race was initially light until the NE 'aster filled in and gave everyone a decent ride down the bay past the Heads into Broken Bay, around Lion Island and back.
The event helps to raise funds via entry fees for the Peter Loft Foundation which is established to assist junior members of BYRA to participate in National and International sailing events.
