The second year of the hosting of the Lago Maggiore International RS Aero Regatta by Unione Velica Maccagno saw a nice increase in numbers to nearly 30 RS Aeros representing a total of ten nations.
The regatta provides keen racing with light and moderate breezes but also a relaxed atmosphere enjoying the scenery, weather and fine cuisine found on the Italian lakes. Maggiore is quite centrally located and accessible whilst the provision of a charter fleet also allows long distance travellers to fly in....

Just two weeks to go the Lago Maggiore International RS Aero Regatta!
The training on Friday 28th will be an excellent way to learn the RS Aero if you do not benefit from a large fleet locally.
There will likely be informal sailing in groups on the Thursday also. The British RS Aeros are set to arrive on Wednesday evening, hopefully not too late.
Racing is then just two days over the weekend but this allows for four racing sessions, early morning and early afternoon with a nice break in between whilst to mountain breeze reverses and provides nice variety to the racing.
We had a lovelly time at this relaxed event last year and this year it has grown larger again with over 30 RS Aero sailors from 9 countries so far.
Great racing, hot sunshine, beautiful scenery, wonderful company, excellent food and nice exercise - Come and join the fun!
UK Owners RS Aero transport: One space remains at £300. Option to then fly in or come in the car. Loading at Warsash on Sunday 23rd or Lymington Monday 24th, leaving early on 26th

Online Entries are coming in nicely for the International RS Aero Regatta at Maccagno on Lago Maggiore. Approaching 30 sailors are already registered representing 10 nations including sailors traveling from as far afield as the USA and Australia to experience the Italian lakes.
The three RS Aero fleets will enjoy Class racing in the narrowest part of the lake off Maccagno, where the wind funnels its strongest. Two racing sessions each day will make the most of the morning and afternoon breezes, enjoying a variety of conditions.
Like last year the day before racing is a coaching day allowing the sailors from the more remote RS Aero locations to quickly gain knowledge from those more experienced before the racing begins.
The early entry discount ends on Tuesday 28th, be sure to enter and pay by then for the lower rate.
RS Aero Delivery from UK - 1 or 2 places remain for anyone who fancies their RS Aero delivered to the Italian Lakes from the UK. Milan Malpensa airport is just 1hr20m away and there are regular flights with Easyjet. Email me for details.
After a fantastic event in 2018 we return to the wonderful setting of Lago Maggiore to build on that success for another International RS Aero Regatta at Maccagno, a joint Italian/Swiss venture between the clubs of UV Maccagno and YC Ascona.
