Just two days after our friends from Lymington returned home, spring arrived in Palm Beach. On Sunday, the 10th., with the outside temp at 81 and the water temp at 74 the Sailfish Club Aero fleet staged a distance race around Peanut Island and you could choose clockwise or counterclockwise. Following the start, the wind increased to 20 kts. with strong, shifty gusts. making life difficult on the beat back home. Paul Gingras was the first Aero, sailing a 7m, Kim Frisbie was second with a 5m, and Tim Givens finished third using a 7m. All the Aeros finished just behind a Laser Pico which was give a 20 minute head start. Salted and sunburned, we celebrated with the legendary Sailfish Club rum punch.Reply 13/02/2018 22:20:00
