Pics just in, link;
thanks to SailRacer/Tim Olin.
These are a selection of RS Aero pics from the event.
Race 1 was light and became a drifter.
Races 2 & 3 were a nice 12-16kn which produced nice planing reaches.

Well done to everybody racing at The Oxford Blue incorporating our 'RS Aero Winter Champs' today.
We had a staggering 25 RS Aeros out in total which is a gigantic achievement in the depths of winter within six months of the first boats being delivered. The event reached its capacity of 150, which is a record, and the Aeros were a whopping one sixth of that!
A bit of rain first thing didn't dampen enthusiasm for our first biggie. 1st race was light and became a drifter. 2nd and 3rd races the wind piped up to a fun 12-16 kn. Most of the fleet had gone for 9's (17) and it became energetic at times but good fun and very managable on the flat water.
The highlight of the day for me was having to duck Will Taylor in his 'RS Aero 5', 3/4 of the way up a first beat, when he went on to beat most of the bigger sailed boats from various classes in our start group to the first mark, and he was still well up at the leeward mark after 2 reaches and a run!
Results were not available as everyone left (150 boats, 3 races and average lap timing is a big deal) but actually who cares?! It was a big day out and a lot of fun. Despite the cold feet.

RS Aero entries to our Winter Champs at Oxford on Saturday 3rd Jan
have been coming in quickly recently and it is set to be the biggest RS Aero gathering ever in Aero history! All rigs are represented and we now have 17 entered making the Aeros the largest fleet by far at Oxford.
Once you have your entry in you can then relax and really properly enjoy Christmas, safe in the knowledge that you have some New Years exercise diarised!!!
RS are generously sponsoring the series and will be providing lots of goodies for prizes at Oxford!
The Oxford event presents great opportunity to touch base with the new fleet, raising any queries or swapping tips, especially if you are currently in a fledgling fleet at home.
In the whole SailJuice series the Aeros (all rigs) have the second largest fleet to the Laser alone. That is quite some achievement 6 months after the first boats were delivered!

With the addition of our new fleet entry for Oxford is likely to hit its limit this year with entry not possible on the day. The Grafham GP being postponed from the 28th will also lead to more boats diverting to this event.
