Bristol Yacht Club Stuffie Regatta - Bristol, Rhode Island, USA, Oct 25

The second Saturday of the Bristol Yacht Club 2025/26 frostbiting series was the annual Stuffie Regatta. Sevent races were held with no drop score, which were races 6-12 in the overal series.

Seven RS Aeros signed up with 5 taking to the water. With light winds forecast the RS Aero 9 was favoured by most . In the offsshorte breeze the 10kn breeze was punctuated with gusts of 17 knots iproviding the fleet with an exciting time. With such variance adjusting the ang and playing the sheet proved to be the name of the game in both RS Aero and ILCA fleets.

Boris Mezhiboviskiy (Cedar Point YC, CT) took the win in the RS Aeros with four race wins in his scoreline. As a well travelled international RS Aero racer he enjoys the fresh breezes. Summing up his day Boris remarked;
"People of a smaller size had to work hard, I had fun. With the wind coming off the shore it was very gusty and shifty, so we had to constantly keep an eye for those spots of high pressure coming over and then play the vang a lot, when the gust hits the boat. Many were healing and trying to fight it. Instead, easing sheet and using the gust as your friend was pretty critical and you can  then accelerate rather than heeling and slowing down."

Bristol Yacht Club's Frostbite Series continues on Saturdays from October 18th 2025 right through to March 28th 2026 with 5-7 races each Saturday afternoon. Come join the RS Aeros there for some off season fun and practice!
