RS Aero UK Youth/Adult Winter Training Series 2025/26 - Details
After an epic summer of sailing, the 2025/26 RS Aero UK Winter Training Series is now taking sign-ups ready for the winter season. The series is open to both adult and youth and you can either enter the individual weekends or the whole series at a big discount.

This year includes on water training with 2/3 Coaches at each venue and Online Talks that are RS Aero specific, with all this alongside a busy social program! We were very excited to see some of our sailors from past training series on the podium at the World Championships in Quiberon, France.

A HUGE shout out to the reinvestment from the RS Aero UK Class Association to make the Winter Training Series more accessible and affordable than ever before.

THE LOCATIONS
The RS Aero Winter Training Series 2025/26 will be visiting 7 different locations across highly RS Aero populated areas of the country. A mix of coastal and inland venues will allow sailors to develop skills for all types of sailing.
These locations and dates are as follows:

Felpham SC - 18/19 Oct 2025 - Train to Race, Setting up your RS Aero and Basic Manoeuvre Improvement
Burghfield SC - 8/9 Nov 2025 - Tacking and Gybing, growing those skills
Hayling Island SC - 13/14 Dec 2025 - Waves? Challenge Accepted (Alongside the RS Tera Class)
Island Barn SC - 24/25 Jan 2026 - Startlines 101
Broadwater SC - 14/15 Feb 2026 - Mark Roundings, 360’s and other general boat skills
Paignton SC - 7/8 Mar 2026 - First Beat Tactics, and make the most of those runs
Lymington Town SC - 11/12 Apr 2026 - Putting the pieces together for the season ahead

What if you can’t attend them all? Or even want to do just one or two? Information on individual weekend sign-ups below.

ON THE WATER TRAINING
Each weekend will have a title or question that will be a focus for the squad. The sessions will be a mixture of boat handling skills, racing tactics and much more with the goal to build up to a summer of championship racing.

It is expected that everyone who joins these trainings can rig, and launch their dinghy, as well as have a basic knowledge of racing. They should be able to roll Tack and Gybe, and sail in reasonable wind conditions.

ONLINE TALKS
Members of the team will receive access to 2 online talks hosted by George Cousins, who has been coaching the RS Aeros for several years now. He has a huge bank of videos which he will review and discuss. The last few years these online talks have seen up to 80 worldwide participants take part.

THE COACHES
Over the last few years the class has built strong bonds with Several coaches. Sammy IJ, George Cousins and Andrew Frost will continue to lead the Training in 2025/26. These specialist coaches will attend each weekend and give insight into their specific strengths accompanied by some of the other best coaches and sailors the RS Aeros class can provide.

We have been even luckier than ever to again get some EPIC funding from the RS Aero UK Class Association to support the 2025/26 season meaning the cost has reduced even further from last year!
