Lancing RS Aero Open - Lancing SC, West Sussex, UK, 5/6th July

13 RS Aeros duked it out in big breeze and fantastic waves at Lancing SC. The Saturday was wisely cancelled in advance with gales passing through, leaving a full itinerary of 4 races on the Sunday as a one day event.

Congratulations to Peter Barton (Lymington) counting three 1sts for the win from Jack Miller (Felpham) in 2nd and Tom Twist (Felpham) in 3rd, all three in RS Aero 7s. Top RS Aero 5 was Kentaro Yamanda (King George) in 4th and the top home boat from Lancing SC was Will Apps in 5th.

It is great to see the Lancing RS Aero fleet steadily growing and we look forward to returning next year.

**SATURDAY RACING CANCELLED DUE TO HIGH WIND FORECAST**

REVERTING TO SUNDAY ONLY RACING

Dear All

Firstly, thanks for showing your support for our first RS Aero Open Meeting at Lancing SC. Unfortunately with the forecast of F5-7 we have had to take the decision to cancel tomorrow’s racing. HOWEVER Sunday looks really good, so we will endeavour to run a minimum of 4 races.

We felt a good early decision would suit those travelling and you can replan your days and make necessary arrangements.

For avoidance of doubt, Saturday evening social is cancelled too.

We welcome you from 0900 on Sunday. NoR and SI will be updated - but to let you know ASAP:

0900 - Welcome to arrive and unload.
1000 - Registration Open
1015 - BRIEFING
First warning signal for the first race on Sunday 6th July is not before 1055
We will look to run a minimum of 4 races
Based upon registered numbers and to assist a good chance of more races, we plan to revert to single fleet, on handicaps (subject to any update at the Briefing)

Thanks for your interest and understanding, and we look forward to hosting you for what could be classic Sussex coast conditions!!

Lancing RS Aero Open - Lancing SC, West Sussex, 5/6th July

Just two weeks to go to the Lancing RS Aero weekend which will be a key opportunity for the large contingent of 54 (!) Brits attending the Worlds in France to get some good open sea race training in.

The growing fleet of 12 RS Aeros at Lancing Sailing Club welcomes visitors to their first RS Aero Open Meeting and are looking forward to a competitive event with 6 races over 2 days in classic South Coast conditions, sailing in the sun and surf!

With a barbecue and the bar open after sailing on Saturday, we hope to kick off with an absolute cracker, and for this to anchor as a regular key event on the RS Aero calendar for years to come.

Online Entry is open and entries are coming in. Lets make a big weekend of it!

Lancing Sailing Club welcomes visitors to their inaugural RS Aero Open Meeting on 5/6th July for an excellent weekend of sailing on the open sea.

With a growing fleet of 12 RS Aeros at Lancing SC, they are looking forward to a competitive event and have scheduled 6 races over 2 days in classic South Coast conditions, sailing in the sun and surf! With a barbecue and the bar open after sailing on Saturday, we hope to kick off with an absolute cracker, and for this to anchor as a regular key event on the RS Aero calendar for years to come.
