Notts County SC Open - Nottinghamshire, UK, 10th May
The first in the new three event Midland RS Aero Series was held at Notts County Sailing Club on Saturday 10th May and supported by Rooster Sailing.
Twenty RS Aeros from five clubs entered and competitors took to the water for 4 races on a sunny warm Saturday with an increasing breeze.
Congratulations to Joe Scurrah (Notts County) on his win with three bullets to count. Sam Grayton took 2nd with Rebecca Ogden 3rd and top female, pipping Hayden Moore on a tie break. Top visitor was Kent Martin (Ogston) in 5th.
RS Aero 7s took all the top six spots on this occasion....although the standout performance of the day was Ariadne Doel's 2nd place in her RS Aero 5 in light wind of race 1.
It was great to see seven woman RS Aero sailors participating in this event, and Rebecca third overall. Notts County will be hosting the RS Aero UK Woman’s Championship on 27/28th September. Save the date!
The next event on the Northern Circuit is Yorkshire Dales SC on Saturday 7th June, then Beaver SC is on Saturday 21st June, followed by the Midland Circuit's Draycote Water SC on Saturday 28th June.

Entry Fee: £15 (Junior U19, £8)
For 2025 the RS Aero UK Northern and Midlands Circuit will be split regionally into two mini circuits, the RS Aero UK Northern Circuit and RS Aero UK Midlands Circuit. Each will consist of three one-day Saturday open meetings within the region. Sailors will count just their best two results for an overall series result and the chance of a special RS Aero Class prize!
