It was a great day out at the Porthpean Perisher in Cornwall at the beautiful beach of Porthpean and racing on St Austell bay with pure blue skies and a nice medium breeze.
Congratulations to Peter Barton of Lymington Town SC in his RS Aero 7 on winning! After 120 minutes of sailing there were some great battles with Alan Harris-Guerrero's of Porthpean SC in his Blaze steadily catching to be just 3 boat lengths behind at the end, with the Tasar close behind in third! The breeze provided just enough wave action for the RS Aero 7 to surf occasionally, helping it to keep ahead. David Buzzard of Restronguet SC took 9th overall, also in an RS Aero 7.
The final event of the Sailing Southwest winter series is this Sunday 23rd March at Wimbleball Sailing Club.

Sailing Southwest Winter Series
On the Cornish south coast, where the air and sea never really get cold, it will be like summer by mid March!
Come and join Porthpean SC for their Pursuit Race on the open sea as they re-join the Southwest Series this year.
