RS Aero Australian National Championships 2025, Jervis Bay Sailing Club, NSW, Australia, 19-23 Jan

The Rooster RS Aero 2025 Australian National Championships attracted 49 RS Aeros representing 4 states, competing across the 4 RS Aero Classes over 5 days in the lovely location of Jervis Bay in NSW.

Jervis Bay is a beautiful spot to sail, with warm blue water (22 degrees), white sandy beaches, open water with dolphins and pelicans. Competitors enjoyed a 15 knot sea breezes with flat crystal clear waters, a small wind chop that allowed some surfing with some shifts and holes to keep the best of the fleet challenged. The resident dolphins turned up to play at the start of Race 5!

The last day of racing tested all 4 fleets, with a dying breeze greeting sailors for Race 7 & 8. Race 7 was completed in 5-10knots, with the final race being completed in a variable, shifty 5 knot breeze. Just what you want to make it an exciting finale! This made for an exhilarating finish, especially in the RS Aero 7 fleet, where all three Podium positions were determined in the final race of the regatta! All four RS Aero fleets completed a full series and enjoyed a nice variety of racing conditions.

One unique feature of the RS Aero class is the "Tips and Tricks" sessions after each day, where the winners or significant performers get to pass on their insights from the day to the fleet.

80 sailors, race officials & love ones attend the presentation dinner held at Club Callala.
Congratulations to all the winners, place getters and competitors!
