Plymouth Pounder - Hooe Point SC, Plymouth, UK, 11th Jan
Congratulations to Zak Mitchell on sailing his RS Aero 6 to 9th place at the 28 boat Plymouth Pounder on 11th Jan. It was great to see 4 RS Aeros within the mixed class fleet
The wind increased to a nice medium breeze on Plymouth Sound as the race unfolded. It is good try other Classes occasionally, to learn diverse skills and remind ourselves why we love the RS Aero! At this winter event other RS Aero regulars Mark Ripley raced a Blaze to 4th and Luca Mitchell raced a K1 to 6th. Will they be faster RS Aero sailors this year for the experience? Possibly.
With just 3 of the 7 Sailing Southwest Winter Series events completed and 4 still remaining the series, which allows a variety of classes or rig sizes to be counted by a competitor, remains wide open with both Zak and Luca steadily putting good series together.

Next up in the Sailing Southwest Winter Series is the most easterly venue -the Sutton Bingham SC Icicle Pursuit on Sunday 9th Feb.
