RS Aero Sustainability Challenge - Papercourt SC, Surrey, UK, 22nd Sept

A forecast of an entire day of thunderstorms didn't do much to encourage many entries to the annual RS Aero Sustainability challenge at Papercourt SC.  Thankfully, the promised storms didn't turn up and 6 committed RS Aero sailors fuelled up on bacon butties and took to the water in light and shifty conditions.

As a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Papercourt was an ideal venue to showcase sensitive management of the environment alongside sailing with our latest brood of signets watching over the launching....

RS Aero Sustainability Challenge - Papercourt SC, Surrey, Sun 22 Sept
Thames Valley Mini Series

EVENT PAGE

£15 entry fee includes bacon butty, lunch, tea & CAKE!

The 2024 RS Aero Sustainability Challenge visits Papercourt Sailing Club's RS Aero fleet for a nice day out at their lovely lake for their RS Aero Open on Sunday 22nd September. This is the RS Aero Class' key annual opportunity to remind ourselves of the importance of our Class' sustainability ethos and values.

Papercourt is situated just off the A3 near Woking, providing for easy access. The RS Aero fleet at Papercourt and this event have both steadily grown over the last few seasons. Four short races are planned with a sociable lunch break.

Super smart trophies supplied by The Green Blue are up for grabs - this is your chance to bag one of these beauties for your mantel piece!

SUSTAINABILITY - Remember to rinse boats, trolleys and kit between venues, lift share where possible, use re-usable water bottles and respect the natural environment and wildlife. Check out the RS Aero Sustainability Charter and The Green Blue for more info on how to help our sport minimise impact and become more sustainable. https://www.rsaerosailing.org/docs/490404488(1).pdf
