UKRAINE - HUMANITARIAN RELIEF at the RS Aero Europeans
The war in Ukraine continues and as a Class it is important to do what we are able to, to help relieve the humanitarian suffering there.
Boris Mezhibovskiy is competing in our Europeans for the USA. He was born in the Ukraine and later moved to the USA. His birth town of Kherson was submerged after the destruction of the Kakhovka dam, further increasing the humanitarian crises. Additionally Sofia Naumenko is a Ukranian entry to our European Championships and a keen competitor for the past two years, winning both the RS Aero 6 European and World Championships in 2024.
The suffering in the Ukraine continues whilst we enjoy our sailing in the paradise of Lake Garda, only a short flight away….
Boris and I have a plan, similar to what we arranged at the Sardinia Worlds in 2023, to help support the humanitarian relief charities working in the Ukraine. We have sourced mini Ukrainian sail sticker flags which are a quarter the size of each nation's sail flags. They will be available free at Registration and may be placed on sails alongside your own national flag as a sign of support.
Donations are invited to a choice of three Ukrainian relief charities assisting with a mix of childhood, medical and refugee needs. QR codes to the charities will be available at Registration, on the Notice Board and in the attached flier.

NATIONAL FLAGS for MAINSAILS
The Class will supply a 1 National Flag for the mainsail for each competitor at Registration. Add it to the port side, just under the National Letters. If there are enough flags left over after registration closes then sailors are able to buy a second flag for 5 Euro for the starboard side too (back to back) from Peter Barton, if they choose.
NATIONAL FLAGS
Bring your national flags to wave on a pole at the opening ceremony and flag parade on Wednesday!
TROLLEY STICKERS
These stickers match your trolley to your sail number by peeling the segments off the '8888' number to make your own sail number. These are vital when we have identical trolleys and will help someone get your trolley back to you quicker when your feet are cold! These can be bought for 5 Euro from Peter Barton.

GARDA TRAINING - 23rd & 28-30th Apr

The German RS Aero Class are organising 4 days coaching at CV Arco again this year. The dates are 23rd and 28-30th April, surrounding the championship, due to the availabilities of coaches. This is open internationally to everyone interested and together with the Europeans is a great opportunity for racing and training early in the season.
Coaches: Ausra Mileviciute and Arkadii Kistanov (training language is English)
Group size: approx. 6-7 participants/group, 2 groups
Costs: approx. 370 EUR/participant, this includes the coaches fee, motorboat charter and fuel. Berth fee at CVA to be paid separately by each participant.

Sailboat Deliveries have been taking bookings but are yet to reach the minimum of 6 required for this transport plan to be a GO GO. With the event's entry now open and the early entry discount date set for the end of Feb they have also set that deadline for their bookings to reach the 6, so that they are then able to book this 'trip to paradise' into their busy schedule for 6 or more lucky RS Aeros.
So, if you are contemplating the boat transport option with the luxury of flying in, get in touch with Sailboat Deliveries who are ready to help towards making your 2025 dreams come true...

SAVE THE DATE!
The 2025 RS Aero European Chmpionship will be hosted by Circolo Vela Arco on the north shore of Lake Garda the weekend after Easter from 24-27th April!
The Italian RS Aeros enjoy many excellent venues and Arco on the north shore of Lake Garda is always popular. Lago di Garda is wonderful in the spring with warm air and crisp fresh water. The incredible venue shrouded by sheer cliffs is one of Europe's premier meccas of sail sports, with thermal breezes, excellent weather, incredible views and fine Italian cuisine!
The early season date, enabled by the Italian climate, will provide an excellent stepped build up a full 3 months prior to the RS Aero World Championships at Quiberon France at the end of July.
