I love the head cam angle as you really get a feel for the sailor's view and experience 14-16kn wind, some good waves and nice to hit 25kph on a first outing!
ENG- Sailing and surroundings - First outing with the RS Aero! Innovative boat that winks at laserists looking for something different. It is, in fact, a very light boat (33kg) and super reactive. Compared to the Laser it is slightly faster. Making a first comparison, upwind the boat was about 1 knot faster than my standard laser and required a little less physical effort (30% less). Slack [Ed - a low course upwind?] is very fast, certainly more than a Laser. Downwind it seemed a bit less stable and jibing with wind and wave is more difficult than with a laser [Ed - Technique here to throw the boom across with the mainsheet]. In any case, the boat features an excellent build quality (epoxy and carbon) & carbon rig.
ITA- Vela e dintorni - Prima uscita con l'RS Aero! Barca innovativa che strizza l'occhio ai laseristi che cercano qualcosa di diverso. Si tratta, infatti, di una barca molto leggera (33 kg) e super reattiva. Rispetto al Laser è leggermente più veloce. Facendo un primo paragone, di bolina la barca era più veloce di circa 1 nodo rispetto al mio laser standard e richiedeva un pò meno impegno fisico (il 30% in meno). Di lasco è molto veloce, certamente più di un Laser. In poppa mi è parsa un pò instabile e la strambata con vento e onda è più difficile che con un laser. In ogni caso, la barca presenta una qualità costruttiva eccelsa (epossidica e carbonio) rig in carbonio.
