Hi,
Yes, after speaking with RS customer support, they are sending me a replacement rudder stock. Luckily the boat had only been out in very light winds!

Hi Christina,
Same happend to me 1st time out with brand new boat in +20kts - not a pleasant experience!
I had the stock replaced for free. Suggest you demand the same.
I think there is a design or manufacturing fault here.Reply 29/03/2022 10:20:00

Update - after looking at Gorilla Epoxy, the technical information stated that it is water resistant, not water proof and should not be used for water exposed applications.
I have contacted RS Customer Care to ask for advice.Reply 28/03/2022 17:58:00

Hi Christina,
The two components Gorilla epoxy is the solution.

Hi,
I have a boat that has only ever been on the water 3 times. I noticed today that the lower rudder pintle had come away from the rudder stock and when I try to put it back it, it is so loose it falls back out.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on how the pintle should be secured to the rudder stock?
Cheers,
ChristinaReply 27/03/2022 21:30:00
