Outhaul elastic take up

Welcome to a great class. Always good to have questions.

Before you make the effort to replace this, can you please provide a sketch of how the tackeup works and where the shockcord is connected? I have doubts about whether this is legal.

Hi. Please excuse my lack of knowledge, I am new to this lovely class.
The boat I have purchased has an outhaul take up inside the boom which needs replacing. I have taken the cap off of the rear of the boom and can see this attaches further down. Before I drill the rivets to remove the front cap, can someone please advise where and how the elastic is attached. Thanks
