Mast Chafe Collar; Elastic for Outhaul; Outhaul/Downhaul Tensioners

  1. I've not had that one, but I did have the sleeve come loose and move up the mast. RS replaced it. check if yours has moved.
  2. I have the same problem - will try dynema
  3. Tighten

Regarding #3

Look underneath, sometimes the lines get twisted and that prevents the take up.

#1 Talk to RS.

#2 I find mine goes OK but I have dynema loop rather than velcro.

#3 Maybe tighten, but elastic does get stretched. Make sure they are allowed to fully relax between sails (when boat ashore)

#1: I'm finding that the chafe collar near the bottom of the mast keeps sliding up on its own. When it gets above the deck the mast gets a bit sloppy. Any suggestions on keeping it down?
#2: It seems as though the outhaul could use some elastic to serve as an inhaul, so the foot loosens as soon as the outhaul is released, even in moderate wind – as is done on a Laser. Have others found that to be the case? Anyone tried it?
#3: What's the fix for slack in the elastic tensioners for the outhaul and downhaul? Sometimes they're dragging in the water. Just shortening them up?
