Changing from Metal Blocks to Plastic Blocks

Hi Geoff,
For the outhaul and cunningham secondary line tail tidies the use of rings (or thimbles in place of rings) and blocks generally is permitted. [C.6.1.3(o)]
Other blocks may be replaced by a block that is; 'a like for like type, weight and similar size as the Originally Supplied item' [C.6.1.4(b)(i), see also C.6.1.3 (n)(v)(x)].
Class Rules: https://www.rsaerosailing.org/docs/331216793.pdf

Personally, for the outhaul and cunningham secondary line tail tidies I like to use small metal rings or thimbles to be minimalist. They don't tend to scratch or rust.
Plastic rings tend to wear out. Blocks without metal are available.

Hi,
I would like to change all the small metal blocks to plastic blocks so that I do not get stratches and rust marks on the deck.  Can anyone confirm if this is legal under the rules and what type of blocks are recommended?
Thanks in advance, Geoff
