Thanks for the clarification David.  Yes, having a blast with my Aero, the folks here (Richmond YC in California) are great.

Hi TIa
Welcome to the class.  I hope that you are enjoying the boat and people.  Hopefully we will see you at soem regatta's soon. As you say, Part III, section H relates to "Supplied Equipment" at events, and does not apply to your own boat.  Section C.6.1.3 (a) [and definsitons] of the Class Rules provides that you may "Polishing of the hull, hull appendages, mast and boom is permitted provided that the intention or effect is not to lighten the equipment or improve or alter the material shape from that Originally Supplied".  In other words, you canot sand, flatboard or change the surface of the hull etc. You are only allowed to apply a polish (not a cutting compound) to the existing hull etc without altering them

Have fun

Hello all, I'm new to the Aero class (have raced in other classes) and I'm a little unclear about waxes and polishes. I see in the rules, Part III, section H under Supplied Equipment, that the use of waxes... is prohibited. What about my own boat in Club events? Specifically 3M wax and McLube speed polish.
TIA
