Sail shape

Don't know about the leech tell-tales. I've always found plenty of power. Sailors from other classes usually need to use a bit more kicker, laser sailors who are used to pulling the boom down to the blocks may overdo it.

The diagonal crease happens if you don't get the downhaul slack enough for the amount of kicker released - several boats here use an extra elastic from the downhaul multi-block up to a loop tied in the halyard (above the lower cleat) to encourage the downhaul to release. A fraction of kicker back on usually also resolves but you have to get that downhaul really free. In very light winds it can be a problem but as soon as the sail properly fills the crease goes away. You can pop the luff strap over the mushroom (assume you are sitting well forward running in light winds so this is possible but usually don't need to go that extreme)

Ex laser sailor new to the aero ... feel I'm not getting max power from rig noticed today while practising that while tell tales are flowing correctly on the luff the bottom one of the leech tell tales rarely flows with the 2 above it.

Tried pulling on kicker , downhaul etc but didn't seem to alter it, had a thought that maybe top battens are too tight creating different shape in top of sail to bottom ? .

One other thing I have noticed is that downwind in light winds I have a big crease/fold in the sail from the tack to the aft side of the flat head on the sail again have tried pulling kicker etc to clear it but no joy. Still, enjoying the challenge of a new boat and hope to get a few opens in next year.
