Good to see the ice has melted on the Tegeler See, allowing the growing Berlin fleet to start their new season.

I receive a wide and interesting range of enquiries from keen RS Aero sailors worldwide and when the RS Aero the hotline  rang one morning a couple of weeks ago it was Steve in Berlin, at the lakeside; "Hi Pete, we are eager to go sailing but there is thin ice. Will it be OK to break it up with our RS Aeros?"

I advised against it! The RS Aero is strong and robust in normal use being made of carbon and epoxy, however it is best not use a light weight performance race boat for that. Even thin ice can be sharp and heavy.
