3D/2D files for RS Aero

Hi Fernando (F.Gamboa) and BJN,

I hope you’re both well and still sailing your Aeros!

I’m in the process of having a trophy made for an RS Aero 7 and came across this thread while looking for a 3D model of the hull. You both kindly mentioned having 3D models of the Aero hullform that you’ve used for printed trophies – that’s exactly what I need.

I’m trying to replicate (hull + centreboard + rudder + tiller and mast).

Would you be willing to share the STL (or STEP/Fusion) files with me for personal, non-commercial use? I only need the files so I can scale, tweak the base slightly for my trophy, and print it myself.

Thank you so much in advance

Best regards,
Graham Baxendale

Thanks for clarification Peter.

Actually the scanner I can get access to is broken. Maybe I will be somewhen able to generate files.

to scan a large white glossy object and convert it to a usable CAD model is not so easy.

Best regards

Michael asked me to ask RS Sailing.
Unfortunately RS Sailing are unable to release an image or file of the RS Aero hull form. Therefore I think the way you need to progress is to 3D scan the hull or an existing model yourselves, or share a file from someone else who is able to do that.

Hi Fernando, we are planning to mill wooden prices. Would it be possible to get the 3D model?

Hi Fernando,
I'm after the files themselves if possible. Wanting to 3D print myself, then use to create a master for glass. If they're publicly available would love a link.
Thx

Hi I have 3d models of the Aero hull that I use to create 3d printed trophies. If you are interested I can print you some personalized trophies. Fernando
