Home >> General Discussion >> RS Aero sailing after hip replacement
I know an Aero sailor who has two replacement hips and doesn't appear to have any difficulty.

Hi Cammy

I had a successful hip replacement in January 2024 and was sailing my Aero with a 6 sail within 3 months without difficulties. If you want more information on my progress you are welcome to contact me on 07710459403. My post operative exercising regime was well balanced and I think that helped.

I can't answer you with any direct experience myself, but you might find something useful in this thread.

I am considering getting into an Aero but wondering if anyone is sailing one after one or two hip replacements. I had my first hip done January 2023 and second one a year later. I hope to test sail one in the coming month, I am unsure if the decks are too low for gybing or tacking quickly. Might be worrying over nothing!!
