RS Aero European Ranking List 2020 The cancellation of the German Nationals and the Irish Open brought an early end to the 2020 European Rankings. In the shortened series six events were held based in four countries, the Netherlands, Sweden, Czech Republic and the UK. The final event was the UK Inlands at Draycote which gave the Brits a final chance to move up the standings with a second event to count.
200 sailors raced an event on the series and 57 qualified with two events scored.
Many thanks to Jorn Domres of Germany for creating a scoring formula and managing the results. Hopefully in 2021 we can develop the series with international travel possible to include more events and more nations, as intended this year.

RS AERO EUROPEAN RANKING SCHEME
Thanks to Jorn Domres of Germany for his work seting up the European Ranking Scheme. Naturally this year is testing with restrictions on travel and event sizes and we look forward to the benefit of the scheme as the circuit further develops in years to come.
Several events are now completed and included on the ranking list.
Additional events have also since been added;
- Crown Cup -, Lipno, Czech Republic, 22/23 Aug
- UK Inlands - Draycote, UK, 10/11 Oct (the Brits with restrictions were short on events)
- Irish Open - Dublin, 24/25 Oct
It is great to see 161 RS Aeros already on the ranking list this year!

Thanks to our German RS Aero Class Chairman, Jorn Domres, for his initiative in producing a RS Aero European Ranking scheme this year.
Jorn takes one major international RS Aero championship from each European country and with an essentially complicated and very clever formula ranks the events by importance and number of participants to produce an overall European ranking list on the manage2sail.com platform.
Obviously 2020 has softened the launch of his exciting project so far, after we had at least one major international regatta planned each month of the season this year. However, with 6 major championships in 6 European countries still remaining and set to go ahead it will be fun to see how the scheme evolves this autumn. The events on the 2020 ranking are listed above. The scheme can then be ready for further refinement in the hope of a busy year with some excellent international travel supporting each others events and visiting new venues in 2021!
