Dutch Open Championships - Marina Port Zelande, Grevelingenmeer, Netherlands, 21/22 Sept
42 RS Aero turned out for some close racing at the Dutch Championships with 6 nations represented due to their central European location, making this event a wonderfully international championship. Racing was held in three RS Aero Classes 6, 7 & 9 without there being too much wind in the forecast.
This year the championship visited an exciting new venue at Port Zelande at the other end of the Grevelingenmeer from Bruinisse. The racing was expertly organised by the Royal Yacht Club of Belgium. This is a fantastic racing location with good social options, plenty of accommodation and by the beach and seaside!
Congratulations to the winners and to everyone taking part!
Cyriel Debruyne (BEL) won the RS Aero 6s, Joppe Pattyn (BEL) won the RS Aero 7s and Steve Taylor (GER) won the RS Aero 9s.
The top Dutch sailors were Peter Spruit in the RS Aero 6s, Joke Krijgsman in the RS Aero 7s and Vincent Viool in the RS Aero 9s
