The last of our series of 6 monthly winter training weekends took place in Weymouth over the weekend and it was wonderful to see a record turnout of 32 entries at our 2018 World Championship venue (having capped the entry a few weeks earlier).

 

The Rooster RS Aero Youth Team were once again joined by guest adults and the improvements made during the winter period were clear.

 

The weather was mild, a long and productive day on the water on Saturday had sailors split into groups of age, ability and rig size and combined when appropriate. This was followed by a lighter day on Sunday.

 

At the end of our 4th winter season we have come a long way since the first weekend in Oct 2014 when we had 6 sailors, with 3 of the RS Aeros brand new, delivered to thrilled youngsters on that Saturday morning!

 

Many thanks to Ben Rolfe our Class' Youth Coordinator for making it all happen, our excellent team of coaches Ross Harvey, Paul Robson, Hannah Bristow, Chloe Martin and Sam Whaley and to our dedicated Youths and their supportive parents who have all embraced the programme.

 

There was such a great buzz - old friends, new faces and a quite a few shiney new RS Aeros too! With more youth sailors joining us all the time in both new and used RS Aeros we can look forward to many exciting events this season!
