Thanks to Matt Evans of Great Moor SC for this video demonstrating the capabilities of the RS Aero 5 in a breeze! In Race 3 Matt arrived at the windward mark in 2nd place overall with only one RS Aero 7 ahead of him!

You can still enter on the day but pre entry will help Gareth know how much bacon and hot lunches to buy - and you get your Aero bar!

 

Looks like an exciting day's racing of 'Fresh but not too Frightening', some sunshine and mild spring temps. Launching and recovery should be easy with an offshore breeze and with Island Barn elevated above local wind obstructions we can look forward to a great spring blast!

 

Looks like we might see good class racing for 5 and 7 rigs, decision is with Gareth after registration. It is always nice to see a good fleet of 5s and if anyone would like to borrow a 5 rig I have one available for loan, contact me to reserve.

Forecast looking sunny not too cold but moderately windy - rig choice can be changed on the day. The water isn't too cold this year - I tested it for you 10 days ago... 

 

 

 

 

The UK Spring Champs will be the 10th and final event of the mega RS Aero UK Winter Series. With only the best 3 events required for a series and (at least) one of the Winter or Spring Champs required as a counter it will remain all to play for going into the Grand Final!

For those of you who don't know us we are a deep water raised reservoir (like a smaller version of Queen Mary or Datchet).  This means open water with no current, trees, shallows or islands to complicate things.  If you could let me know you are coming it will help us plan the catering. NoR and SIs will be up on the club web site shortly.

 

Our fleet is growing quickly and we should have over 10 Island Barn entrants to challenge you. The format will be 4 races with the first start no earlier than 11 am, briefing at 10:30.  We are sharing the day with the Phantoms so let's have a great display of Aeros. We will certainly have separate start from the Phantoms so they should be out of our way and we have plenty of open water. We'll decide on the Aero starts when we have a better idea of numbers and rig spread but most likely we'll split the fleet if we have lots of boats.
