Grafham Grand Prix - Grafham Water SC, Cambridgeshire, Sat 30th Dec
With 136 entries for the Gill Grafham Grand Prix, it was another breezy outing for the fourth event in this season's Selden SailJuice Winter Series. Somehow a weather window in among the chaos of Storm Gerritt made it possible after the forecast leading up to the day looked ominous.
The wind on the day started at a benign 10 to 15 knots, and the rain was holding off: ideal sailing conditions, although there would be a sting in the tail later in the afternoon. The competitors were split over three fleets: Fast, Medium, and Slow to race similar speed boats. The format was three back-to-back handicap races.
Congratulations to the 10 RS Aeros who took part.

The Grafham Grand Prix runs 3 handicap races with separate starts for similar types of boats. This provides an abundance of great winter racing within one big day out!
For keen racers and aspiring young sailors the SailJuice Series is invaluable, providing focus with a year round calendar and big fleet race experience. With good turnouts of RS Aeros anticipated we can expect some good Class racing within the larger mixed fleet event.
