On the whole these seem like a very reasonable set of rules for class racing: I assume that the PY will be adjusted in accordance with updates from the RYA as and when enough race data is submitted? I wonder why the class have decided to ban the use of GPS for in race use? I only use a tracker at this time which apears to be allowed. It will be great to see how the rules work in practice and as class racing develops. Happy sailing, Rich

Great to have the class rules!

It would be nice if the rules document included a drawing of the rig, and the three different sail sizes.

Look very good. Pleasantly surprised that we can replace fittings with similar but don't have to purchase everything from the same brand. I think these look like a very good set of rules to allow the class to thrive. Tight enough to avoid an arms race but with enough freedom for a bit of personal preference.

Was interested to see C 1.4 - can always change down rig but not up. That's what we've decided after much debate to do at our club for most of our handicap series (that is series which last 8-10 weeks). You enter with the biggest rig you might use and that's the handicap you stay with.
(We made an exception for our once a month pursuit series because it would be too confusing to have different sailors starting at different times in the same rig if someone changed down but someone else didn't)

Hope you can get those handicap numbers to stick and be endorsed by official PY. I'm sailing off a lot lower at the moment.

CLASS RULES
They’re out! Much anticipated and with our first event of the new season tomorrow, they have just been slam dunked into the basket in the last few seconds of extra time!

Thank you all for your patience. This is an important document for the Class and it was vital to give it due time and effort.

In the autumn and the early winter it was necessary to get afloat and sail the RS Aeros in order to make informed decisions regards these Rules. In January RS were approached by ISAF who were keen to be involved and assist in their production. However, this caused an inevitable delay and thus RS have finalised the original document subject to ISAFs possible future involvement.

The Class Rules are linked HERE, enjoy!

Class rules will be available early part of next week, but yes you are correct strict one design and standard RS North Sails only. There are a few minor minor items which can be changed but all very minor.

Any other questions feel free to get in contact.

Hi all. What's the status on class rules? Are there any yet? If so, where to get a copy? Is the boat intended to be a strict One Design class, like the Laser, with no changes to the boat, rig and fittings allowed, and only the standard sails as supplied by RS / North allowed? Or......?
