“My heart beats for the Sauerland”

The weather report didn't predict anything good for the state championship at Sorpesee. Saturday 4kn – Sunday 6kn. A total of 13 sailors took part, which was a positive signal again at Lake Sorpe after the cancellation in the spring due to a lack of participation.

About the regatta: Better than expected, the wind surprised us at 6 knots and the race director Gunther Nulle laid out a short course for us in three races. Juliane and Marcus left no doubt about their form and dominated the field. Marcus, while in the lead in the second race, didn't notice the track shortening and did an extra lap. But in the end this shouldn't be to his detriment. On Sunday the wind picked up a little to 8 to 10 knots and we were able to complete another 5 fair races. The bottom line is that Marcus won with equal points, ahead of Juliane and me as report writers. It has been shown once again that good and fair races can also be sailed on the Sauerland dams.

About what happened on land: The barbecue evening on the lakeside terrace probably left no participant going home hungry or thirsty. Many thanks to the restaurateur Hennemann family from the Canoe-Sail-Club Hemer.

Landesmeisterschaft NRW am Sorpesee

Ein Bericht von Martin Hofmann:

„Mein Herz schlägt für das Sauerland“

Der Wetterbericht sagte für die Landesmeisterschaft am Sorpesee nichts Gutes voraus. Samstag 4kn – Sonntag 6kn, nichts für AeroBIGs. Insgesamt gingen 13 Segler an den Start, nach der Absage im Frühjahr auf Grund mangelnder Beteiligung wieder ein positives Signal am Sorpesee.

Zum Regattageschehen: Besser als erwartet überraschte uns der Wind mit 6 Knoten und der Wettfahrtleiter Günther Nülle legte uns in drei Wettfahrten einen kurzen Kurs aus. Juliane und Marcus ließen keinen Zweifel an ihrer Form und dominierten das Feld. Marcus bekam in der zweiten Wettfahrt in Führung liegend die Bahnabkürzung nicht mit und drehte eine Extrarunde. Das sollte aber im Endergebnis nicht zu seinem Schaden sein. Am Sonntag frischte der Wind ein wenig auf 8 bis 10 Knoten auf und wir konnten weitere 5 faire Wettfahrten zu Ende bringen. Unterm Strich gewann Marcus punktgleich vor Juliane und mir als Berichtschreiber. Es hat sich wieder mal gezeigt, dass auch auf den Sauerländer Talsperren gute und faire Wettfahrten gesegelt werden können.

Zum Anlandgeschehen: Der Grillabend auf der Seeterasse ließ wohl keinen Teilnehmer hungrig oder durstig nach Hause gehen. Vielen Dank dem Gastronom Familie Hennemann des Kanu-Segel-Club Hemer.
