Czech RS Aero Nationals at Regatta 725 - Lipno, Czech Republic, 24/26 Sept
Thanks to Jiri Kuthan for his report;
In Cerna v Posumavi on 24/26 September there was the Czech RS Aero Championship alongside the Cup Race for the RS700s.
On Friday, the first day of the regatta, winds of 5-8 m/s reached 12 m/s in gusts and four races were held. The next day the wind slowly decreased to 3 m/s and the results from Saturday ultimately became final as on Sunday the wind failed with a calm.
Wind changes regularly shuffled the order in the RS Aero Class. While the youngest and fastest competitor David Sulc (YC Nechranice) led the first day with a close lead, on the weaker wind of Saturday Dan Guryca (YC CERE) came back with his experience to win the title of Czech RS Aero Champion. Jan Hruby (YC Nechranice) held third place both days.
The director of the race, Jira Kuthan, reported favourably of the regatta and the RS Classes taking part;
"I feel really grateful, how we pulled together, helping each other on the shore and on the water, each with their own little bit. There were no protests. After years we race together, our racing skills steadily improve and everyone gives their best to each other and we enjoy it together!"
Next for the Czech RS Aeros is racing on the River Vltava in Prague with YC Cere this coming weekend 2/3 Oct.
