RS Aero UK Southern Championship - WPNSA, Portland, Weymouth 29/30 May
Summer finally arrived in the UK over the bank holiday weekend as 40 RS Aeros visited Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy for the 2021 RS Aero UK Southern Championships. Medium south-easterly breezes and blue skies provided excellent racing with a few sun kissed faces over the weekend!
A day's racing on each of Portland Harbour and Weymouth Bay provided nice variety and the medium breezes gave incredibly equally matched close racing with most sailors taking a turn near the front at some point!

RS AERO 6 -
As per the NOR the prototypes can race with the RS Aeros 7s this weekend, to facilitate try outs and testing. I have 3 rigs, Version 2 slightly smaller than the original. Let me know by tonight if you would like to borrow one to try it for either 1 or both days (new series if change rig, so you will blow your series) and I will bring it for you.

SATURDAY EVENING SOCIAL
For this Saturday evening at Weymouth here is a suggested plan to make the most of the opportunity to catch up and enjoy each other's company again within the current restrictions, outdoors and socially distanced;
- We have Pasta/Snacks and a Drink immediately after racing on the forecourt at WPNSA included in our entry, which will be nice straight after sailing.
- Pre-dinner drinks 'Prinks' either continuing at WPNSA
...or if nice weather maybe onto The Cove House Inn for the view of Chesil Beach and the sea.
- Book a table at 'The Boat That Rocks' for 8pm
(inside tables can be booked for either 6pm or 8pm, outside tables are first come first served, rule is 6 max to a table, pubs close at 10pm)

Following our World Championships of 2018 with over 200 RS Aeros competing we return to Weymouth in 2021 for our UK Southern Champs. This weekend of big fleet racing will provide an excellent build up to both the 2021 summer's main championships and also a familiarisation for our return to Weymouth in 2022 for the RS Aero Championships at the four yearly RS Games. The sailing will be on the fabulous and varied waters which contested the 2012 Olympics, both inside and outside of the harbour as the best conditions dictate.
Our first 2 day event of the delayed UK season coincides perfectly with accomodation becoming available again from the 17th, as well as existing self catering and camping options. Book up soon if you are not already!
The entry fee includes a sociable outdoor 'lite-bites' snack (choice of pasta, pasty, sausage roll....) and drink on the forecourt after racing each day!
