Lymington Town SC Open - Hampshire, UK, 15th May
WOW what a day! 65 RS Aero sailors arrived at Lymington full of anticipation. This was a new RS Aero Class record for attendance at a one day open meeting, a few more than the epic Bloody Mary race of 2020, and the forecast was fully loaded!

Many Thanks to the small army of Lymington Town SC volunteers that it takes to but on an event like this. Race officer Rob Martin expertly enabled a completed schedule of excellent racing on what was a very testing but rewarding day. Thanks to Rooster, Harken, Selden and Noble Marine for the awesome spread of prizes.
Next Up for the UK RS Aeros is the RS Aero UK Southern Championships at WPNSA in Weymouth on 29/30th May and online entry is open!

We have a new all time RS Aero World Record; the most competitors at a one day RS Aero event of 65, a few more than the epic 2020 Bloody Mary race last year!
LTSC and their small army of volunteers look forward to welcoming visiting RS Aeros tomorrow.
We could end up with some fantastic racing conditions and sunshine. The tide turning half way through the race day is perfect for variety over 3 races. The forecast increasing breeze could provide a full spectrum of conditions and there should be something for everyone with an easier start and likely more challenging later - just like our legendary inaugural Lymo event back in 2015!

Half century and climbing!
Medium forecast, nothing overly testing. Some blue skies.
The tide turns half way through the racing which is perfect as it will give us a nice varied race day.
Entries close Wednesday night (12th). No entry on the day. Any more?

41 entries now signed up! .....but will we hit 60?
We already have adequate numbers for Class racing with seperate starts.
The Race Briefing has been recorded and can be found HERE.
The Sailing Instructions will be available soon on the Club website.
We have a large marquee for comfort and shelter. Catering is available during the day by table service in the marquee.
On arrival bacon baps etc., teas coffees, drinks & snacks. Light meals & sandwiches after racing.
An area of car park is reserved for visiting boats, please aim for the far end on the left adjacent to the Club fence.
LTSC has two open outdoor hot water showers next to the boat hoses, which are awesome - so no one needs to go home smelly or salty!
(Minimum of swimming costumes please!)

Two weeks to go now and great to see 18 RS Aeros signed up already.
Please sign up ASAP to help the club plan and gauge numbers for safety, catering, etc, etc...
Three back to back races on a Saturday in a big RS Aero Class split fleet. Come and sample the joys and challenges of the western solent race course.
We have a top race team in Rob and Jan Martin who did a awesome job when the RS Aero UK Youth Champs last came to Lymington. The local Solo fleet are kindly providing our volunteers so lets make it worth their time and put on a good show!
Outdoor catering is in full swing at LTSC with food & drink available with table service in the large marquee on the lawn providing good shelter and seating. The changing rooms remain closed but LTSC has two open outdoor hot water showers which are awesome next to the boat hoses - so no one needs to drive home smelly or salty!

After 3 months of lockdown in the UK we are back in business and looking forward to some RS Aero racing again!
Lymington is well known to the RS Aero fleet and with a large home fleet we are sure of a good turnout to enjoy the western Solent in May. This event will be a great warm up for the busy season ahead.

In addition to Lym Town's 1 day spring RS Aero open in May there is the 2 day Lymington Dinghy Regatta in early July and the Royal Lymington will host another 1 day event in October.
