Seattle Frostbiting 5 - Seattle, WA, USA, Feb 7

Here is a top motiviational speech from Dan Falk in Seattle, USA, ready for Sunday's Frostbite outing.
It is only after you are told you can not go sailing and have your regular meet with your friends with the restirictions of the past year that you really appreciate every opportunity - even the marginal ones!

"Good afternoon and Happy Friday.
I'm not going to sugar coat this. It looks like it's going to be very cold and there will be very little wind. It looks like the sort of conditions that would cause most sane people to stay home or take a brisk walk wearing layers of clothes. But we're not most sane people. We're Dinghy sailors in Seattle. Suffering is our idea of fun. In the very best of conditions, our sport really, really hurts. This Sunday, we'll likely be very cold sailing very, very slowly. Some of us will curse our lack of dietary self discipline as we get smoked in race after race. But that is what we do, and we need to do it this Sunday.
Racing will start closer to noon than 12:30 in order to accommodate Super Bowl fans.
See you on the water,

Dan
