- Round 1 UK Southern Circuit
- Round 2 Thames Valley Mini Series
What a day!
Well done to everyone involved for making the most of a very challenging day as storm Hannah ravaged the UK!
5 races with gusts up to 34kn in the morning and 37kn in the afternoon!
- 46 entries
- 38 took to the water
- 25 completed at least one race, which was a challenge in it's self!
- 13 completed a series, finishing 4 or 5 races

Thanks Hairsy! Today at Island Barn was extra ordinary!
Incredible to have 26 RS Aeros out and 5 races, given the advance storm warning and the 37kn gusts on the day.

RS Aero UK Spring Championships Island Barn Reservoir SC

Saturday 27th April
36 RS Aeros are now signed up and Class racing is a certainty.
Island Barn SC have a large home RS Aero fleet who look forward to welcoming us all.
The prize giving for both the RS Aero UK Winter Championship and the RS Aero UK Winter Series will at IBRSC after the RS Aero UK Spring Champs. Additionally, all 21 sailors who completed the Winter Series (3 events +) will be entered into the prize draw to win the 50% RS Aero Sail voucher!

Those familiar with Island Barn will know the key for visitors is getting the boats up the slope to the water. We are a raised reservoir (a bit like Queen Mary or Datchett). The good news is that our water level is high and the raised reservoir generally gives a good wind, but we don't have a gentle ramp to pull or tow boats up so we pull them up with a winch which can be a bottleneck. Please get in the queue to get boats up to the bank as soon as you can.
The good news this year for those who know us is that we are expecting to have the second winch running doubling our uphill capacity, but please help us by getting the boats up to the shore as soon as you can and moving well down the shore in either direction to leave room for the next boats.

Getting close to 30 pre-entries now - 12 clubs represented - from as far afield as Fowey to the West, Rutland to the North, Wells-next-the-sea to the East and Lymington to the South.
No-one yet from Papercourt, Bowmoor, Broadwater, Felpham, Chew valley or Warsash though I have spoken/exchanged mails with a few likely attendees. Pre-registration really helps us with catering (or just pm me to say you plan to come).

Saturday 27th April UK Southern Circuit & Thames Valley regional mini series.
The RS Aero fleet has continued to grow throughout 2017 and 2018 at Island Barn, a popular club accessibly located to the south west of London. The reservoir is raised, enjoying a clearer wind over its wide open surface.
These early season meetings are the perfect way to prepare for the start of summer!
