RS Aero Christmas Stadium Racing Lymington Town Sailing Club
16th December 2017
Twenty two RS Aeros pitched up to a frosty morning at Lymington with several visitors joining the large local fleet. An early start on the top of the tide was planned for a busy morning’s Stadium Racing with a series of short n’sharp sprint races on the river adjacent to the clubs and pontoons.

Lymington's RS Aero Stadium Racing

Last call for entries - we have 21 now which is fantastic!
Forecast is looking kind - medium breeze, a good direction and wonderful sunshine!
Entry - £2 for mulled wine and mince pie warmers.
Format - Class racing. Lots of short sprint style races. If we have more than 12 boats in any rig size we might split the fleet in two and run qualification and finals rounds.
13:00 - Lymi RS Aero Christmas Lunch
17:00 - Party Chez Chairman Rolfe
19:00 - A cultural tour of Lymington's cobbles with Karlos. The Custom House on Quay Hill for 7pm cocktails, likely followed by the Ship and Kings Head.
Sunday 10:30 - Hot Toddy Race (continuing the theme!) visitors are again welcome.

At the top of the tide, in the quiet season after the moorings are clear of lead luggers and river traffic is minimal, a good area is available for racing in the confines of the river - and fun spectator sport for those ashore too! Unless they prefer to check out the pre Christmas bustle of Lymnington Market!
Briefing 09:30 and all finished in time for lunch.

Lymington Town Hot Toddy Race
Sunday 17th December
For visitors who would like to visit Lymington for the whole weekend the club's annual cherished 'Hot Toddy Race' is open to RS Aero visitors this year with the possibility of the RS Aeros having their own start.
It was last Christmas' Hot Toddy Race being limited to the top of the river due to light winds that gave the Keith Willis the idea of RS Aero Stadium Racing!
Start:10:30 (on the river line, near the slipway). A warming 'Hot Toddy' drink will await all competitors on return to the slipway!
