North Devon YC Wrecker - Instow, Devon, UK, 10th Nov 2024
20 mixed class boats competed at this year's North Devon YC Wrecker pursuit race in what was to by a light wind but sunny edition around the Rivers Taw and Torridge Estuaries from Instow, marking the first event of the 2024/25 Sailing Southwest Winter Series.

20 mixed class boats competed at this year's North Devon YC Wrecker pursuit race in what was to by a light wind but sunny edition around the Rivers Taw and Torridge Estuaries from Instow, marking the first event of the 2024/25 Sailing Southwest Winter Series.
With light 3-7kn winds the usually flurry of catamarans were down the results sheet whilst those that enjoy light winds like the K1 and Firefly were near the front. Ultimately it was the local K1 of Jonathan Miles who took the win.
Congratulations to Luca and Zak Mitchell (Paignton SC) who represented the RS Aero Class well in their RS Aero 7s. Luca finished runner up in 2nd and Zak took 7th.
"Good day at North Devon Yacht Club for the Wrecker, had a lot of fun and glad to come out 2nd. Not a lot of wind but it just managed to hold out", said a happy Luca.
RESULTS
