Home >> Technical >> Question on over deck control lines
Hi,

After fitting the remplacement mast pot I've just fitted the over deck control line kit purchased from RS Sailing. I was slightly confused as there seem to be two versions of the fitting instructions.

The result looks ok (see attached picture) but I am open to comments before I splice together the ends of the outhaul and downhaul lines. I wonder about two things:

1. Is that much shock cord needed for the downhaul takeup? Would it be ok to tie the end of the shock cord to the aft of the starboard organiser rather than going through the bow bullseye?

2. Although the instructions mention replacing the existing mainsheet traveller line, a new one wasn't included in the kit I received. Looking at the illustrations I don't really understand why it should be replaced as I can't see any difference with the original setup.

Cheers
Pascal
