I forgot, how I did it. I think, that there is a description in the rigging manual.

Thank you, Michael. That's a helpful suggestion. Here's a dumb question: how do I get the existing block off of the boom? These Dyneema mounts scream (to me) "don't touch!"

It is not directly an answer to your question, but my personal experience:

I would never use a cleat. Buy a second automatic ratched block for the main sheet at the boom and you will not need the cleat anymore.

It ist much cheaper and you will avoid a lot of capsiizing due to the main sheet in the cleat.

I use the Ronstan 55 mm Ratchet-Orbit block as first block and as second block at the boom the Ronstant 40 mm Ratchet-Orbit-Block + Dyneema both in the automatic version.

Question: I have a new-ish (<1 yr) RS Aero that came with the upgraded mainsheet base (removable with bottle opener). I'd like to upgrade to the mainsheet swivel cleat version, available here:

https://westcoastsailing.net/rs-aero-mainsheet-swivel-cleat-aer-ua-110/

But it looks like I'd be buying a bunch of redundant parts -- since I already own the "retro-fit mainsheet base" and mounting parts.

Question: Does anyone know if it's possible to simply buy the Harken H205 low swivel cleat and pop that in without purchasing the full kit?

If it's any help on the question, here's the RS parts diagram:

https://www.rssailingstore.com/Catalogue/RS-Parts/RS-Aero/Mainsheet-Upgrade

My question comes down to this: do I need only parts 8, 9, and 10 (where part 9 is available from many places at below-RS prices, and parts 8 and 10 are cheap), or do I need the full $300 kit?

(Yes, I know that some people don't approve of installing the mainsheet cleat. I'm prepared to live with that disapproval.)

Thank you
