Dautor,
There is no outhaul take away elastic as standard.
It is not required as very little rope moves on the outhaul. You can minimise the excess line. I have just enough spare to comfortably allow me to lift the mast out without untying, if I slacken it right off.
Otherwise, you could copy the Cunningham take up on the opposite side.

Joern Domres describes some optimisations in his blog: http://aero.domres.info/category/tips-und-tricks/hardware

Unfortunately for you, they are in German. Meanwhile he has even otpmised this.

Main idea for the outhaul is to fix a 5 mm rubber at the end of the boom, the rubber is inside the boom. to the other end of the boom a 2 mm line is fixed. The 2 mm leaves the boom through the hole where the outlhaul leaves the boom. This line is then fixed at the small outhaul block, where also the outhaul is fixed.

The same system can be used for the downhaul as well with another line.

Hopefully my explanations are understandable.

Best regards

Michael

I love the downhaul (Cunningham) take up elastic setup on the Aero over deck controls: no slack, no mess ever. I'm puzzled that there's not a similar take up setup for the outhaul which, on my Aero, is kind of loose and sloppy. (I know that I can shorten the line and will eventually resort to that.) Is there an outhaul take up system, akin to the downhaul, that I missed during assembly? I ask ion part because I have an extra take up elastic in the parts bin provided by RS. I don't know if this was supposed to be a spare, of if I simply missed a step when installing the running rigging.

Thank you.
