Home >> Technical >> 4 blocks on the starboard side
I have checked with RS Sailing and they are now supplying new RS Aeros with 2 single blocks as standard, in replacement for the downhaul base double block.
Therefore there are now 4 single blocks on the starboard organiser at the mast step, rather than 1 double and 2 singles.

A long time back it became a permitted modification in the Class Rules (C.6.1.3.v) to replace the downhaul base double block to 2 singles which allows each of them to line up better individually, hence a little less friction when pulling and releasing.
The Rigging Manual will likely be updated in due course, although it is not necessary as the Class Rule permission already covers it.

Whilst not a necessity this is a nicety, so a nice upgrade going forwards. Thanks RS!

Hallo Chris,

I have got three at my new Aero, but one is a double block, as shown in the rigging guide. So there are four blocks too.
