Further to Jonathan's response to Jonathan...
It is worth noting that for some time now, since 2017 I think, RS Aero standard trolleys have been supplied with two choices of adjustable height of the under gunwale supports.

From new they are supplied in the higher setting. This is most comonly preferered and allows ample transom clearance.

By moving the bolts in the frame to the alternative holes you can select the lower option to lower the gunwale suppots by about 70mm. Whilst you then need to be more careful of the transom this can have the advantage of keeping your feet drier in the winter by launching into shallower water and a more compact travelling height when limited on height or to reduce windage - and also helps to squeeze into the Eurotunnel trains if you have a 5 RS Aero high trailer!

Photos;
1. The two sets of holes give two height options of about 70mm difference
2. The top boat is in high mode but low mode would have given a little more leeway on the Eurotunnel train!
3. The low setting gives a more compact unit for transport, for limited space or reduced windage. This photo is the original trolley with lower height.

Hi Jonathan,

You'll find an annotated dimensioned diagram of a Mk 2 Trolley on the Forum under the following:-

Home >> Transport & Storage >> Trolley Dimensions - for roof racks, trailers, ferry bookings etc.

Plus a lot of discussion in a similar thread to your own.

I used a Mersea 275 trailer to collect my Aero from RS.  Apart from the transom being somewhat low to the ground it was fine.
RS's new boat handover people will help you make sure your outfit will be set=up OK.
Just watch the ramp out of their loading bay!!  I grounded mine going down it!  No harm though.

Welcome to the fleet.

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a diagram showing launching trolley measurements? I have a reasonably old but excellent condition West Mersea 300 combination trailer and want to see if it'll need any modifications for my new (to me) Aero - collecting in a few weeks from RS!

Thanks,

Jonathan
