One thing to add to Peter's excellent reply: make sure the bottom boat's traveler block is in the cockpit, not on the forward deck!

For padding, we're finding 1" thick foam flooring squares (2' x 2' each) very useful. Two squares joined longitudinally between the mast step and aft end of forward deck, two squares joined laterally aft across the cockpit do the trick. If you use yoga mats or some other padding, just make sure they're at least 1/2" (preferably 3/4"+) thick.

Here's a link to pads I bought: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GZL38J3/

Thanks Peter.
As I mentioned, our local sailmaker has made a bespoke snood based on the one supplied when the boats are new. It is made of a more robust material and has extra padding in the right places. We were planning on doing a bit more travelling this year (including Lymington) but obviously, those plans are on hold just now.
Here is a picture of our new travelling cover.

Hi Duncan,
RS Aeros are designed for travelling stacked so when stationary in the garage it is an easy way to save space.

- Remove the quick release kicker cleat fitting
- Remove the quick release mainsheet block fitting (undo shackle on boats pre sail number of about 2100)
- Place all the lines and blocks at the mast step down the mast step
- Add padding in at least the 5 necessary points as per rigging manual

At rest in the garage as the RS Aero is so light you could happily store a load of gear on top of the top RS Aero. They are designed to be stacked 7 high, although tend to be transported with a max of 5.

Refer to RS Aero Rigging Manual pages 41 & 56

Happy cycling!

Our two Aeros have been lying side by side in our garage over the winter months. We had hoped that by now they would have re-located to our club. Now that we are in ‘lockdown’, we would really like to access our cycles a bit more but with limited space, it requires a lot of shuffling of boats, bikes and other garage stuff. So, one solution is to stack the Aeros in the garage to create some space. Therefore, my question is: “Will we damage the boats with them being stacked for a lengthy period (say up to a couple of months?). Incidentally, my local sailmaker made us an new snood with additional padding for trailing two boats together (a bit more an the one supplied when new). Cheers Duncan
