Capsize Recovery
by Peter Barton, UK

For today's Top Tip we revisit the Capsize Corner Class reference thread of every which way to recover a capsized RS Aero and climb back aboard! The forum thread covers it all;
  • Dry capsize or full turtle?
  • Side or Rear re-entry?
  • Eskimo Roll?
  • Boom still in the air?
  • Short arm reach or long arm reach?
  • Capsize lines?
The RS Aero is no harder to recover than a Laser, although the technique is quite different due to the RS Aero's light weight carbon rig. This thread with descriptions, photos and video is a must for all new RS Aero sailors and a good refresh for those with experience too!

Some of these stunt RS Aero sailors investigated and developed the techniques described in the depths of winter, including the Class' first ever UK Youth Training event, to save you having to!
