Ease kicker, half plate normally slightly rudder down - the boat will sit quite happily. Much the same as coming in to the shore. Watch the boats at open meetings between races. Most just sit cross wind.

Hi all,

I recently caught a long string of seaweed in my rudder in strong current and choppy waters, and couldn't find an easy way to stop the boat to resolve the issue.

On my previous boats, I would just back the jib and attach the rudder parallel to the jib while letting the mainsheet loose, but obviously this won't work without a jib. Is there any technique to stop the Aero and let it drift while dealing with a technical problem?

Cheers,
Pascal
