Top Tips from Papercourt - Pre-event coaching

At our larger events we often start with a whole coaching day. Smaller 1 day meetings often have a pre-briefing coaching session for about 20-30 minutes. We have done this at Broadwater, Wimbleball, Reading, Chew, Lymington, Papercourt etc.. This helps spread the lessons that have been learned in the Class to our more remote sailors and those who travel less, helping to accelerate everyone's learning and enjoyment possible.

Here we are at Papercourt SC (Surrey, UK) in September (I remember sun and warmth!). The talk is geared towards sailing on a small water with the challenges of wind obstructions producing frequent gusts, lulls and shifts.

Often I try to wear everyone out during on the water coaching, so they are tired before I have to race them. For this on shore session you can see me put Mark's daggerboard on the muddy grass to try to slow him down a little!

This Saturday at Lee on Solent, visiting their large home fleet for the first time, we will again run pre-briefing coaching from 10:00 for 20-30 minutes. After I quickly run though some RS Aero specifics we will be treated to our World Champ, Steve Cockerill of Rooster, imparting some of the wave sailing magic that he is well renowned for.
