Home >> General Discussion >> Hull Identification Number is Different than World Sailing Number and Sail Number Stickers
Simon,
I am in the Dallas, TX area. We have a fleet of 30 club owned Aero's at Viridian Sailing Center where I have joined and started racing. We are just now starting a new fleet at Corinthian Sailing Club where I consider my home club and grew up sailing at. The other person who is starting the fleet with me and I purchased #3285 this past weekend to have as out loaner.
I hope it grows without too much pain and grief from our fellow Laser sailors. Any great fleet building ideas anybody has would be great. Also anybody who has been successful getting accepted from the Laser fleet would be great to hear from. We are not trying to kill the fleet Laser but I had plenty of Laser sailing when I was a kid and want to step into a newer and much updated design so have picked the Aero.

Thanks Peter! I am really glad because I didn't want to have to pull the numbers off and do it again.

Hi Eddie,
Congratulations on your RS Aero and welcome to the Class!

The Hull Identification Number (HIN) moulded into the transom is independent of the sail number.
Your sail number of the hull, to be added to the sail, is as per the 'Sail Number' sticker and the 'World Sailing' sticker on the transom.

Hi Simon! I just recently purchased this boat from a dealer who has had it sitting in a warehouse unused. The price was right and I guarantee the resin has catalyzed by now! I noticed 3009 also looks to be in GB so 3 numbers in a row with the middle one being shipped to another country. I bet that is not common. Does your CIN match your world sailing and sail number stickers? I put 3008 on my sail even though it appears that my actual hull number may be 3224.

Don't know why you have that number scratched on your boat but as the owner of 3007, I just wanted to say hi! :)

My CIN number doesn't match the numbers on the world sailing and sail number stickers. Are they supposed to be the same? According to the CIN my hull number is 3224 and the world sailing and sail number sticker is 3008. Also why do I have that ugly USA number scratched into the stern above the CIN?
