RS Aero - Isle of Wight! ðŸš¦ðŸš€
It is a green light for Ken's Yodare RS Aero circumnavigation of the IOW tomorrow (Wed).

The tides and wind looking good for the final circumnavigation of Yodare’s 262 island, 4 year odyssey, as they take on the 100km sail around the Isle of Wight - all in one go!

If local RS Aero fleets fancy sailing out to give him a wave he should pass Lymington after 07:00, Gurnard after 08:00 and Bembridge after about 11:00ish.
Apparently it is light at 05:15. Who knew?!?!

Where’s Ken?

Island Aeroventuring with Yodare the RS Aero

Ken Fowler
 gave a splendid talk on the Main Stage at the RYA Dinghy and Watersports show both days with his incredible images and videos that he collected along the way!

Beautiful islands, incredible beaches and wonderful seaside villages.
Wildlife shots included dolphins, seals, huge flat fish, mermaids and the monster Scilly Isles walrus!
Breaking seas, treacherous sand bars, rocky reefs, kelp forests, tidal rapids, under bridges, over roads and assisting rescues!

It was a captivating 45 minutes of Aeroventure!

ISLAND CHALLENGE - 2022 Update! ðŸðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ¥ó ®ó §ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿
Well done Ken and Yodare! After a big effort this year in the quest to circumnavigate every island in England and Wales in an RS Aero, the end is almost in sight...but with some big challenges still to look forward to!

End of Year 2022 Report for the Yodare Challenge by Ken Fowler;

Achievement: B+
Got a few of the more challenging islands done, especially the furthest off shore - Lundy. Passing the 1,000 miles sailed was a massive landmark.
Effort: A-
Been a tough year with lots of weather frustration and campervan breakdowns, but we've stuck at it, no matter how hard a single island can be. I think the 11 hour rounding of Scolt Head Island really sums up all the challenges this adventure brings and how difficult it can be.
RNLI "Brownie Points": A
Rescuing 3 people from Scolt Head Island probably helped reduce my RNLI deficit!
Support team: A+
As ever completely blown away by the great people that have helped me this year. From my direct support team of Earl, Karl and Paul to all the great clubs and sailors that have given their time and knowledge to help make these island roundings happen. THANK YOU everyone of you.
Fundraising: A++
Just humbled by all the kind donations that you have all contributed to this epic challenge. We passed a staggering £58,000 raised recently and that's the whole reason behind this venture, to make a difference to people's lives.
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

Yodare Island Challenge

Ken Fowler has been making excellent progress lassooing over 30 more islands already on this outing to North Wales and the far North East. In his quest to round every island in and off England and Wales in his RS Aero he is now back at Anglesey again to tackle his unfinished business around the rugged north shore and the scary Skerries.

Check out his incredible photos and videos showing off our amazing coastline on his facebook page;

Yodare Island Challenge

Ken Fowler is preparing to set off again on his fundraising adventures in his quest to round every island in and off England and Wales in his RS Aero.

He is ready to take on the big one - the island of Anglesey. There is no 'tame side' as the infamous Swellie narrows have tidal rapids and whirlpools! Offshore are the Skerries Islands with their tremendous overfalls as the Irish Sea compresses into a caldron. Over two weeks he well attempt to bag no less than 55 islands off some of the country's harshest coast.

Please support Ken in any way you can via his site https://yodare.co.uk/  as he strives to exceed his target of £50,000 for his cancer charities.

This is a hugely worthwhile cause and, when you look at what's actually involved in planning and sailing these routes, it's a huge undertaking.

Have a look at the Yodare site and consider showing your support!

Island Adventuring with Yodare the RS Aero

Video montage of a few of the "adventures" that Ken Fowler and his RS Aero Yoda have got into while attempting to become the first dinghy to sail around all the islands in England and Wales for charity.

With much more optimism in spring 2021 than we had this time last year Ken looks forward to the prospect of bagging a whole load more Islands this summer.
