Lymington Fleet RS Aero Launching & Naming Party
Wednesday 11th April
7* new RS Aeros were celebrated at an impromptu launch and naming party before the first evening race of the new season. A splash of bubbly and small dram of whisky wished them all fair winds for the season.
Dan 2503 - 'Thunderbird 2' (A play on his avian surname)
Junior 2541 - 'And in last place VI...'Peter 2549 - 'Elizabeth' (Pirates of the Caribbean)
Keith 2550 - 'Odyssey 2' (after his #2001 was Space Odyssey)
Liam 2551 - '2ssi' (after his #1551 was Issi)
Miles 2465 - 'No name yet!'
Neil 2505 - 'No Names Yet'
Sasha 2462 - Dasha III
7 toasts in total!
5 of the new boats went to sailors upgrading their existing 2-3 year old RS Aeros for new.
2 were new sailors joining the fleet, 1 of those was a 2nd one for a family.
Of the 5 upgraded pre-loved boats, 1 sold within the club and 2 sold to sailors who then joined the club.
Therefore 3 new club members and a fleet increase of 5 - taking the Lymington fleet to over 40!
*..and there is an 8th! Welcome to new member Sasha in 'Dasha III' 2462. New for Christmas, launched last weekend (very sensible!). Good job we didn't know last night an 8th toast might have compromised the racing! We will need another party now....

The RS Aero UK Southern Championships are at the Royal Lymington YC on 19/20th May. Online Entry opens and NoR will be available next week.
